In One Sentence: “GoldCore is an international precious metals dealer and investment platform that enables individuals and institutions to buy, sell, and securely store gold, silver, platinum, and palladium in segregated vaults in locations including London, Switzerland, and Singapore or take direct delivery.”
Top quote: “We want to prove that holding physical assets can be just as seamless as managing a digital one.”
Going Deeper
Who are you building your product/service for, and what painful problem are you taking away from their day?
GoldCore caters to everyone from the individual saver to large institutional partners who share one concern – wealth preservation and overexposure to traditional banking systems.
The pain we solve is the concentrated risks embedded in traditional financial systems. Most people don't see themselves as acting as creditors to their bank. We provide a digital platform via both our website and app to buy and manage physical precious metals held outside the banking framework, ensuring our clients have true, sovereign ownership of a tangible asset.
What are you doing differently than your competitors?
The industry is generally split into two. You have the standard bullion dealers who are still reliant on legacy operational processes and slow logistics, and you have modern fintechs that only offer paper gold because it’s easier to manage. We’ve bridged that gap.
We’ve done the heavy lifting of building a global company that is fully integrated with government mints and high-security vaults, and wrapped it in a digital interface that makes gold as easy to trade as other investments. Most companies find the combination of vaulted security and digital speed too difficult to balance, so they choose one or the other. We chose both.
What was the “this has to exist” moment that made you start the company?
Whilst working as a sales trader in equity derivatives at Goldman Sachs in New York, I saw firsthand how quickly confidence in financial markets can evaporate when systemic risks are ignored. I realised that while the entire market seemed obsessed with digital growth and complex financial products, almost no one was paying attention to the fundamentals of long-term wealth preservation and diversification. There was no easy way for a modern investor to access the security of real gold and precious metals. I saw a clear need to connect conventional asset security with modern efficiency, and upon returning to Ireland, the idea of GoldCore was born.
How do you make money? Which part of your business model are you most excited about scaling?
We generate revenue through transparent transaction fees on the purchase and sale of precious metals, alongside fees for secure, insured storage. I’m most excited about scaling our app, which is very, very exciting. To now be talking about this, which gives people the power to buy, sell and store gold and silver, is a big step for GoldCore as well as the wider industry.
Our clients can now manage their precious metals investments as well as track prices, keep on top of industry commentary and explore other ways of making the most from gold and silver as well. This continues our drive to turn gold from a static asset into a liquid part of a modern portfolio. We want to prove that holding physical assets can be just as seamless as managing a digital one.
Which proof points matter most right now?
Longevity and resilience. We manage over $800m in assets for 15,000 clients around the world, but the numbers only tell half the story. The real proof point is how we perform in periods of heightened market volatility. Having served as a trusted partner through multiple market cycles, from the 2008 crash to the recent global volatility, reinforces the long-term relevance of diversification and physical ownership.
Success isn't just about the scale of the assets; it’s about providing excellent service on a secure platform that allows our clients to enjoy a level of wealth preservation that remains both accessible and secure when conventional markets are under pressure

How does your product/service make the world a better place?
By providing clarity in an industry that is often perceived as complex or inaccessible. A huge part of our work is educational: helping people understand how the modern monetary system works and why portfolio diversification is increasingly important in modern wealth preservation. We don't try to predict the future or lean on sensationalism; we focus on dispelling the myths around precious metals so people can make informed decisions. We believe a business is only as good as the promises it keeps, so we provide an independent, transparent way for individuals to build a bedrock for their wealth that is less correlated to traditional financial market risk.
What’s been your biggest unexpected challenge so far, and what did it force you to learn quickly?
The 2008 financial crisis showed us that when markets panic, the demand for physical assets doesn't just increase, it spikes to a level that can challenge and place enormous pressure on a standard supply chain. We learned very quickly that, when the pressure is on, having operational resilience and flexibility becomes critically important for clients during periods of uncertainty and market stress. It forced us to move beyond acting as a broker and instead build a direct network with government mints and international vaults that could stay open when everyone else was shutting their doors. It taught us that in this industry, you don't build for a steady market; you build for exceptional demand and market volatility.
What does success look like in 12 months? What about in 5 years?
In 12 months, success is seeing our clients interact with their holdings with the same fluidity they expect from any other standard banking or investment app. This applies to all clients, from those who have just bought their first silver coin to family offices who have bought multiple gold bars and stored them in multiple jurisdictions with us. We aren’t changing what we do; we’re just making the assets more accessible by removing the friction of traditional ownership.
In 5 years, we want to be the first name people think of when seeking private wealth sovereignty. The goal is to ensure that no matter how the political or digital landscape shifts, our clients have a physical safety net for their wealth that remains entirely in their own hands.
What type of partner or collaborator would most accelerate your journey right now? (If relevant, which roles are you hiring for?)
We welcome conversations with financial advisers and family offices who recognise that traditional asset allocation is no longer enough to protect a portfolio. We’re looking for partners who want to give their clients and stakeholders a straightforward way to hold gold and silver without the headache of physical storage and transport.
Finish this sentence: “We’ll know we’ve really made it when…”
…owning gold and precious metals is seen as a standard part of a diversified portfolio, rather than a niche alternative.”
